ABOUT PHYSICAL THERAPY

I believe in the importance of physical hygiene, which is that our muscles need to be exercised and stretched regularly to maintain their health.

Our bodies can go a long time without physical conditioning.  However, at some time in our lives, we will be more prone to injury and the recovery of these injuries will take longer.  Our injured muscles will even require an external assistance in order to recover.

This is how physical therapy can be a vital part of someone’s health.  To ensure our muscles heal properly without muscle imbalances or compensation.

We can guide an individual in performing proper exercises in the areas they need.  Such as strength, postural, flexibility or balance training to regain or improve their functional abilities in their lives.

There is a lot of confusion regarding what proper exercise is.  Walking is not enough in the preservation of our health.  We need to practice an appropriate regimen conducive for our health which includes stretching, resistance exercises and postural awareness.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

Welcome to Acosta Physical Therapy, PC,

Here we treat all types of outpatient orthopedic and sports injuries.  These include injuries to the neck, lower back, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, and foot. These injuries can come about from a fall, over-doing it at home or a gym workout, from a motor vehicle accident, a work injury, or by simply getting older.

We also focus on geriatric conditions which could improve balance, difficulty with walking or merely helping you improve some needed strength and endurance training which could help you reduce the number of medications you are required to take.

Some individuals may require physical therapy before or after surgery to improve their strength and range of motion so they can do the things they want to do again without pain or difficulty.  Maybe you simply want to prevent surgery.

INSURANCE

I accept most major insurance plans.

However, if we do not participate in your insurance or you simply do not have medical coverage.  Don't worry we have an out of pocket fee which is very competitive.  So please call to inquire, don't let lack of medical coverage stop you from feeling better sooner.
